Is there any reason this is listed as "250 Europa GT" instead of "250 GT Europa"?

Sold by RM Auctions in London in October, 2007, for 374,000 pounds.

Just "250 Europa". 14 pieces produced in this form (Coupé PininFarina), s/n's from 0303 EU to 0351 EU.

Not a 250 Europa (2800mm wheelbase, Lampredi engine), but a later 250 GT Europa (2600mm wheelbase, Colombo engine).

No, no such model exist.

New wb/2600mm chassis frame for 1955 was called 250GT, so this "Europa"-style coupe should be called a 250GT Europa Pinin Farina Coupé.

Seems somewhat strange to me too for "GT" to not follow after "250" as is usually the case but still.. barchetta.cc, the official Ferrari site, Hemmings, Pebble Beach listings and most everywhere this is how they call it. Probably the reasoning is that as ferrari.com says it follows nomenclature like 212 Inter, 375 America etc. Also here Link to "www.ultimatecarpage.com" in Pebble Beach a car is presented as "250 Europa GT Pinin Farina Berlinetta" though it looks more like the Coupe?
Anyway! whatever's correct should apply to the other 250 Europas as well.

I am not aware of any 250 Europa (wb/2800mm, 3-litre Lampredi engine) appearing in a film.

It is sort of funny as the site has 5 (five!) 375 Americas, which is basically the same car with the same Lampredi engine bored out to a 4,5 litres.

Without an exception all cars using the new Tipo 508 wb/2600mm chassis frame from 1955 onwards, were designated 250 GT. It was an evolution of 212 Inter (wb/2600mm, 2,6-litre engine) and the old-fashioned 250 Europa/375 America line was killed off, 410 Superamerica replacing the 375.

Worth also remembering that some of the "text sediment" on barchetta.cc is already 25 years old, and writers all over the world often cite whatever the owner says or whatever is thought to excite the reader. A rule of thumb is that luxury road cars are Coupes and primitive competition cars are Berlinettas. After introduction of a 2+2, marketing chose to call all road going 2-seaters berlinettas.

Ps. I would call 0361GT a 250GT Europa Pinin Farina Coupe, and same goes for sister car 0409GT in the link above.

As far as I can tell, we don't have it. But noted in case it ever pops up and someone remembers to connect it.

And agreed to leave 383GT and 385GT as currently entered?? Or??

In that case how about " 250 GT Europa Coupé Pinin Farina [....] " so maybe they're batched together and apart from the rest 250 GT?

Writing at the same time.. so agreed. The other two should be the same but with Berlinetta instead of Coupé.

(250 is separate from GT..)

Is ok, these sister cars now appearing together is a clear improvement. They are prototype berlinettas, sort of in-betweens among PF series production cars and later Scaglietti built racing cars (Tour de France). The first Scagliettis for 1956 were almost identical, like 0513GT here:
