My RAF plate list says AA was series for "Land Rovers, Light Trucks, Ambulances, Trailers, Cars" with 22AA39 to 23AA92 for Land Rover Series 1, 86” GP, but nothing listed for 22AA02 to 22AA38. S1 86" looks possible - it would match the thick rim headlights and the grille mesh only covering the bodywork holes instead of the full inverted T grille. Gap between bumper and bodywork was S1 feature, then closed up for S2. So S1 86" my best idea, but not quite original.
