Could also be a Champion - however the rise in the script at the end might be that of the V-8 badge found on the Commanders - it's also portrayed as a police car (more likely to use V-8s), and probably a real one, given its beat-up appearance. Looking at the brochures, it appears that the Commander Custom had chromed headlight bezels, while those of the Champion Custom were painted. |

Only 828 Commander Custom 4-door sedans were sold in 1957 - in stark contrast to the more popular Deluxe version (10285 sold). In this case this is identifiable as a Custom due to the black rubber windshield surround (chromed on the Deluxe). The Champion Custom fared somewhat better with 2106 4-doors sold. |

Can't really see the side emblem but your logic is good. Will leave as Commander pending any better shot. Both Commander and Champion Deluxe-trimmed models had chromed H/L rims standard. The Custom trimmed versions (both series) had painted rims, but chromed ones were optional. |
