Interesting - looks like Crayford Mini Convertible with 86+ side indicators and based on Mayfair. These were built for export, usually to sunny countries.

Quote ... such is the demand that there are fakes out there. Beware of any car with roll bars, hoops and or T bars.

Suggests this isn't a Crayford and, indeed, that most of our Crayford Minis are mis IDs? Crayfords had fixed sides but not thick bars across.

L&H might be the correct converter? Can't see too well as only browsing on a phone...

Can't add much useful. My Mini books don't really highlight anyone else systematically doing chopped Minis in 1980s apart from Lamm which were as far as I can tell fully open rather than Targa or T-top. While our "Crayfords" are not all identical, they look fairly consistent for style and standard of execution - if lots of folk were doing one-offs or tiny batches, I'd expect more variation.

'L&H Cabrio' looks good to me upon closer inspection - the ID, not that embarrassing, dad-jokey pun you'd expect to hear from a 1980s' German conversion maker, of course! L&H leave it open in the brochure how serious they were with that "Airotic" (nick)name, but I notice they use it three times on one page! These convertibles had full Austin-Rover warranty and could be ordered via the German dealer network. We weren't exactly drowning in Mini convertibles over here. ;)

No idea how to transform it correctly - you ADO guys please do the rest in case of agreement.

Done. Useful indirect implication that enough mid-80s Minis were going to Germany to justify a local conversion.

Thx :) Well, "justify" in the sense of "hey, there's another one we didn't open yet". Back then, pretty much every small car in our country must have had nightmares of waking up the next day wearing an unexpected convertible top. I'm almost sure there must have been convertible conversions of contemporary vacuum cleaners available at some point, too.
