For the Series I Range Rover the engine was named 3.9, the revised version for the Series II 4.0, even though the displacement did not change. |

This one might have been registered in 1990, but I think there's a strong possibility it is a works vehicle and is actually a 1989 model with the new 3.9 engine to create a mock up of the new 1990 model for testing. The G-WAC registrations were mostly factory issue and apart from a couple (like this one) they ended up on the pre-production Discoveries used for testing ready for the 1990 launch. |
