2008-01-14 23:51 | The exact same one as this vehicle_110104-Ford-Expedition-EL-U324-2007.html |
2008-01-14 23:52 | But still a diferent car used seperately |
2008-01-15 01:18 | These two Expedition EL’s are used (during a flashback) as evac vehicles. One of them is an escort and the other belongs to Neville. |
2008-01-15 01:23 | yes |
2008-01-15 01:55 | I think that somewhere down the line, the other Expedition with all the LEDs (emergency lighting equipment) should be posted. It just looked so badass ![]() |
2008-01-15 01:56 | These vehicles have been altered for filming purposes ... -- Last edit: 2008-04-06 16:36:37 |
2008-01-15 01:58 | I take it you liked the escorting evac Expedition EL... -- Last edit: 2008-01-15 02:04:48 |
2008-01-15 01:59 | Maybe we can leave it like this for the time being. We know for sure that there were at least 2 different Expeditions used, and I think that at least two different ones should get their own page. And yes, I liked the one the 2 soldiers were driving, it looked sharp and the LED installation was not overdone. -- Last edit: 2008-01-15 02:00:07 |
2008-01-15 07:32 | ford everywhere...cool |

2008-01-15 17:13 | are those enough Neptune? |
2008-01-15 17:18 | Yes I believe so, I’m currently going over them right now – I will have an answer to the Expedition EL's trim level very soon ... thanks CCF ![]() |
2008-01-15 17:40 | not at all ![]() |
2008-01-15 18:00 | Eddie Bauer? i thought every Eddie Bauer Fords were painted in two tones |
2008-01-15 18:11 | They are – the Eddie Bauer’s signature color is "Pueblo Gold Clearcoat" – and this is used on the vehicles lower body panels and trim. However the Expeditions used in this film were altered for filming. Their Pueblo Gold Clearcoat trim was painted Black to match the Black color of the vehicle. Painting over the Eddie Bauer’s Pueblo Gold Clearcoat trim is not new to film companies We have two such examples here on IMCDb: Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004) vehicle_113624-Ford-Expedition-U222-2003.html Live Free or Die Hard (2007) vehicle_118798-Ford-Expedition-U222-2006.html |
2008-01-15 18:19 | I understand so then, what color should they have? |
2008-01-15 18:45 | They would look like these ...![]() (Click to enlarge both photos) Notice the "Pueblo Gold Clearcoat" trim? -- Last edit: 2008-01-15 18:46:23 |
2008-01-15 18:54 | That Pueblo Gold Clearcoat is the above part of it yes? anway they are so nice. |
2008-01-15 19:18 | Yes, on Eddie Bauer models, the Eddie Bauer Edition Pueblo Gold Clearcoat color is used only on the lower half of the vehicle (door panels / upper fender trim / running boards / lower half of front and rear bumpers) ![]() Above photo has Eddie Bauer Pueblo Gold Clearcoat trim highlighted in yellow. Did this answer your question? I may have misunderstood it? -- Last edit: 2008-01-15 21:04:50 |
2008-01-15 19:29 | No no Neptune this was my doubt thanks a lot, i didnt know why they were Eddie Bauers despite being entirely balck so with this you have solved my doubt, thanks again ![]() |
2008-01-15 20:28 | neptune, thanks alot for all the info thiis is priceless for a ford fan im pleased to read it all |
2008-01-15 20:46 | That looks good, I like that ![]() |
2008-01-21 04:28 | Ha! An Expedition towing a Tahoe. ![]() |
2008-04-05 06:32 | I think Crossroads meant it's the exact same car, story-wise, not just the same make, model and color. And now that I think about it, why wouldn't it be the same Expedition in both the present and in flashbacks? I notice the present-day Expedition has some add-ons that this one lacks (the grille guard or whatever you call it), but who's to say Neville didn't put those on in the interim? I'll have to check the license plates on both of them; they're too blurry to make out in these pics. -- Last edit: 2008-04-05 06:35:19 |
2008-04-05 07:00 | Eh, nix that idea. We never get a good look at the license plate of either the flashback Expedition or the present-day one, although I still like to think they're the same car story-wise. |
2008-04-05 16:23 | They are the same type of vehicle, but are not the same vehicle used by Neville during the present day scenes. Why? Because their trim levels change. During the second flashback, the two SUVs stop at the evac entrance zone, the back is shown of the first SUV with the rear badge reading Eddie Bauer. The present day SUV is not a Eddie Bauer, instead it’s a Limited Edition. The Limited is distinguished by the chrome accented roof-rails, body color grille and blacked-out headlamps (which the Expedition EL used in the flashbacks did not have) Photos taken on the set of I Am Legend also reveal it’s a Limited Edition. Also note Eddie Bauers were used for some interior shots (explaining why interior wood accent trim changes from light to dark wood and why the leather seats are two-tone) |
2008-04-05 16:35 | I am curious as to what happened to the two flashback Expedition EL SUVs after filming was finished ... None were pre-production vehicles. I wonder if the film studio sold them? |
2008-04-06 04:01 | i wonder if we can know...there's some ways to know where the movie cars are right now? |
