I usually forget there was a 55 model year as they made so few of them. They only made 44 2-doors for 1955.

I did not know that this design had also been commercialized in 1955 ... Fortunately in Argentina they recycled it from 1958 to 1962 with success

Most of the 1955 models were shipped to Argentina. Only a couple of hundred were released for domestic sale here in the States. The 1955 only differed from the '54 in the hood ornament. But that variation saw lots of production as the Kaiser Carabela down south!
I was EXTREMELY lucky to see a 1955 Manhattan 4-door here in Raleigh about 30 years ago. I got a photo of it somewhere. If I can find it, I'll post it here.

Yes, you could say that he lived a successful second youth, very similar to what happened with the Willys Aero in Brazil ... It would be great to see that photo :)

Found it!

Took this photo on Jan. 29, 1983 at our Crabtree Valley Mall here in Raleigh. Note the hood ornament with the projecting fin, showing that it is indeed a 1955!
I was driving by the mall and spotted it. Could not believe my eyes! Did not have my camera so I rushed home, grabbed it and raced back to the mall, certain it would be gone by then but the fates smiled and it was still there. (Wish I had taken a rear shot, too.)

Thanks! It looks very good for almost 30 years, I suppose they would have restored it by now, although those spoke wheels are original or a later addition? The image and the cars themselves are a classic, there were still 10 years before I was born... :D

Actually, 1954 and 1955 Kaisers did have available factory wire wheels!

Went to the exact same spot as I was 42 years ago and took this photo.

My '94 Olds Cutlass Ciera substitutes for the '55 Kaiser I posted above in 2021.
The Sears store closed about 10 years ago and Macy's took over the spot and enlarged outward toward the road. The building on the left was demolished about 25 years ago.
The only points of reference left are the road pattern and the power pole.

(My Cutlass Ciera is now three years older than the Kaiser was when I photographed it in 1983!)

Commander_57's photos when compared make me a little depressed. :(

Time do change where people perceive the sameness ;)
