1960 De Soto. Is it a Fireflite [PS1-L41] or an Adventurer [PS3-M41]? |

I'm leaning Fireflite. Hard to tell on a white car if it has a chrome streak frome the rear window down across the deck lid. Would also like to know if this was a hardtop. Production was limited, so there probably weren't many sedans in the first place. |

Could be an Adventurer with those rear bumper guards, but the owner may have chosen to add those as, or it may have been optional on Fireflites. |

I vote for the Fireflite. All 60' Desotos had rear bumperguards. The front bumperguars were optional on the Fireflite. Also more likely to see the low-level model as a 4-door "post" sedan. |

This guy chose not to use them in restoration then, I guess. http://www.pbase.com/xl1ken/image/49505642 |

Collectible Automobile October 2004, Volume 21, Number 3. At least that was the issue I thought I read about the bumperguards. I read so many magazines and books. I could have read about it is ther Plymouth - DeSoto story by Crestline publishing. -- Last edit: 2008-01-13 00:37:46 |
