The Wolseleys normally seen in Foyles War are 14s, occasionally in the lower-roofline Series II form but otherwise a Series III, as seen here with the more upright bodywork, and current from 1938 to 1948,performs the role. The car used the most in fact carried an early postwar Essex registration, but because the body style was carried over from 1939 it looked the part. Spec is 1818cc, 6-cyl, 55bhp@4,200 rpm, with 2 SU carbs. Length 14ft 4in, width 5ft 7in, dry weight 27 cwt.0-60 in 36.2 sec, max mph 70+, mpg 23-24. |
