I think that this is a 1939 Berline Grand Luxe [AEB]. The few built during the war wouldn't have got to Belgium (where this scene seems to be) and the 1945-1948 Berline [BFK4] had "RENAULT" and "REGIE NATIONALE" written on the front bumper. Or did they use different bumpers in Belgium? |

On my documents of postwar Juvaquatres ,distributed by Renault Belgium and/or assembled at the Haren factory it appears that they all have the same type of bumper without scripts.Except for the early 1947 models , postwar cars distributed in Belgium usually had the small flat compulsory standing lights on top of the front fenders and this may be the case here although the picture is fuzzy. Late Juvaquatre models also had the Renault lozenge on the grille , not the case here.I know that some units were imported directly from France after the war before the Haren factory could be started up again. On the other hand , when I look at documents of the 1939 Berline Grand Luxe they have Renault and Juvaquatre scripts in two separate cells on the front bumper. So I am not excluding that this may still be an early postwar one. |

Thanks Pilou, I couldn't find any info about Belgian built Juvas. I also had some troubles with the colours: French pre-war cars had a different colour for the grille. So I guess we can rename this one as a 1947 Belgian built [BFK4]. |
