The film and the following Daktari series plus the Corgi model certainly spawned the Land-Rover love in many now 'middle-agers'.

5 stars? If you say so, but I don't remember this movie too well.

@Alexander: a "made for movie"-Landrover you can find in the TV-episodes "Shaun das Schaf", made by the "Wallace and Gromit"-team.
In every detail, not only for the car, they adapted lovely the British style.

Yes, Gag, thanks. Yesterday I saw the DVD of it. Really amazing :)

Thanks, Ingo! As a long-time Aardman fan I got the DVD straight away ... and added it, of course! :) I hope the other episodes will follow soon. If you cannot wait, watch 'Die Sendung mit der Maus' on Sunday mornings. They usually show a (slightly cut) episode every week.

From all I know of you, you are too young by far! :) You have to be a kid from the late 60s or early 70s to remember the film and Daktari series and the matching Corgi Toys Land-Rover. Seeing a TV repetition today won't have the same effect on kids as it had then. But if you talk to a Land-Rover fan of my age group (at least in Germany), the words Land-Rover and Daktari are almost synonyms.
