No tints, non-BMW alloys - my guess is 2800 CS with unusual sunroof. |

One of the very odd selection of cars in Arthurs sales lot - 1940s Daimler, 1950s Consul, 1960s Vanguard, XJ6 Coupe, Honda Acty pick up, Porsche 924, Stag etc ! -- Last edit: 2020-12-14 08:39:39 |

The Daimler was an attempt to attract quality to the site which was a failure because none of the “quality” was bright enough to realise what it was. The Vanguard was taken from a Standard Triumph enthusiast in part exchange for the Stag, which was then returned by the enthusiast because of two leaking head gaskets. The Honda Acty was bought at a police disposal auction, having been used by some low intelligence bank robbers to move a large safe. It was caught by two coppers in an 1100cc Allegro panda car, suspicion being aroused due to their having overtaken it climbing the hill out of the Blackwall tunnel with both front wheels off the ground. The Porsche and the XJ6 were on loan from Arthur’s cousin Marlene’s husband Boycie and the Ford convertible has been there since 1958. -- Last edit: 2020-12-14 13:32:31 |
