That is the 127" wheelbase chassis, unless it is an aftermarket tranformation. It looks new enough to be a Defender, therefore 'Defender 130'. |

The double cab is just one option: http://www.roverworld.com/D130CR.htm And the length is fine. See the space behind the door is longer than the door itself. For comparison the 110 HCPU: http://www.4x4play.net/110.jpg -- Last edit: 2006-09-22 22:19:49 |

Land Rover geek alert... This is a Defender 130 TD5 converted to a "Mid-City" recovery vehicle by French company Jige International. The Mid City range of vehicles are specifically designed to work in towns and cities where it is necessary to tow away illegally parked vehicles. Until a few years ago Mid City models were based on Land Cruisers, but as these no longer conform to Euro 3 pollution standards the Defender was chosen as it's successor. Land Rover supply the vehicle in standard chassis cab format. On this base vehicle, Jige International fit the rear body and hydraulic lift. They also lower the roof of the cab to allow it to fit in multi-storey car parks, hence the unique flat-topped profile of the roof. The two circular black items visible on the front wing ahead of the indicator repeater light are sockets for jump leads, and the huge bumper is actually a large shock-absorbing rubber pad which can be used to push vehicles if necessary, behind it sitting 100kg of counter-weights to balance out the vehicle. As stated above, the wheels are of the Wolf or HD (Heavy Duty) variety, which are standard fitment on all 130 models. /Land Rover geek alert ![]() |
