The main truck is a Chevrolet 3600 3/4 ton, identifiable by the 87 inch bed. It's either a 1951 or a 1952...it has the '51 door vent windows, but I can't tell if the '52 push-button door handles are present. In any case, it appears to have "Chevrolet" script on the hood sides, which rules out a 1953.

BTW, vehicle class is "Pickup," not "convertible."

The burning truck is actually a different vehicle...it appears to be a 3800 1 ton pickup, with a few other noticable differences (such as missing hubcaps and fully painted front trim). The year for that one is even harder to pin down, but vent windows mean it's no older than a 1951.

did anyone else notice that when Ben first drives up in the truck, its a 60s model GMC. Proof? There are double headlights, the turn signal lights are above the headlights, and it says G M C across the front. Here's what it looked like sorta...

Ok for the 1951-52 model year range, but when looking at the main picture and at DAF555's thumbs, it appears to be more likely the 116"/2.95 m wheelbase and the 6,5 ft./1.98 m bed of a 3100 pickup...

With such a length, wheelbase and rear overhang, more than likely a 1951-53 3800 model indeed. I'm sure a clearer view would show us the small 3rd vertical reinforcement bar on top of the rear wheel arch.

Anyway, as part of the 1947-55 Chevrolet Advance-Design trucks line, it can't have the "Stepside" complement, as this bed option name was only given for 1958+ models. And this is a pickup, so the "Convertible" classification is somewhat weird...
Until someone provides a better view of the bed or of the wheelbase, shouldn't we just identify this pickup as a:

⇒ 1951 Chevrolet Advance-Design?
(With Class: Cars, Pick-up and without Stepside)

Since the truck that blows up has been confirmed to be a completely different vehicle than the one shown here, I have taken the liberty of adding a listing for the blown-up truck.
