Produced at Kew, 1933 onwards, 30cwt 2 ton and 4 ton with American engines. 1938+ fitted with Perkins diesel to produce all British truck with 6 ton payload.

In my view, this is possibly a 30cwt from about 1935/6.

I think you're spot on dsl, although probably after 20 years its also had the front wings changed, they don't look like factory originals. Also it looks less than a ton at 15cwt.

New Dodge 15cwt van April 1935.

By January 1936 it had changed again to a far more rounded appearance.

1. Can someone please turn this right way up?
2. Why I think it’s 30cwt.
3. If anyone wishes to contest the 30cwt annotation they must find a way to argue with S W Stevens-Stratten, (1924-2015) not with me.

DLO was actually 12/36 to 2/37, so it was probably registered on 1/1/37.

1/1 still a normal work day - until about 1974 ?

After getting the registration date that's it, it's now finally found! :sun:

Picture is semi-forward control [RTF] but also available as longer bonnet normal control [RT] as in the movie I believe.
1936 Dodge 30cwt [RT] from April 1936, all new range of normal and semi-forward control UK trucks not based on US designs.

I've not seen the 30cwt van before but the larger trucks with the flatter front wings than the 1939 design could also be here on IMCDb. Dodge truck in Whisky Galore!, Movie, 1949

It has not been changed in any way at the front as I wrongly thought.

Unnecessary now, but not wanting to argue with the late Mr S W Stevens-Stratten, but the Kemps Biscuits van looks more like a Commer N1 to me. Headlamps side-mounted, two set of louvres on bonnet sides, only the wheels look unlike a Commer or even Dodge. But that's irrelevant at least for now.

I was working at a customer’s office on Jan 1st in the 1960s, and waiting to see the Managing Director. He eventually turned up about mid day looking more than a bit rough.

Back in the office I said “have you seen the state of Mr. —?”

“Yes it’s the only time he’s ever late, but every New Year’s Day he’s the same.”

But he was Scottish.

Sunbar, it says Dodge on the badge!

That resolves it then, I will go back to sleep, (I'm assuming for future reference its probably 1934 or 1935?).

I cannot go searching for another Dodge just now!
