Yes. All production went to US/CDN until Austin got permission in 1956 to sell the Metropolitan elsewhere in markets which American Motors were absent. UK launch in April 57 during the "Series III" period (before quarterlights) was the first RHD production, and sales in other markets seem to have started about the same time. Feb 59 "Series IV" facelift with quarterlights seems to have been LHD only until a final short relaunch for UK (and presumably other RHD markets?) in September 1960 before all production for everywhere stopped in February 1961. |
