1917-22 - the most difficult of the year ranges ![]() During this time the changes made to the Model T were mostly mechanical. The biggest exterior change during this time was the introduction of the 3 piece rear in 1920 (I believe it was supposed to make dismantling the car easier) -- Last edit: 2020-06-13 00:06:13 |

1919+ Fordite steering wheel (previously wood). The top is hanging over the spot where I could tell the five piece body from the three piece. By the second thumb this is a starter car, reinforced by the lack of side lights, so presumably the button on the steering column is only for the horn while the light switch is on the instrument panel (non starter cars had a combination switch) She appears to be reaching around 2 o'clock next to the steering wheel which is where the starter switch was mounted from 1920 (previously on the coil box near the footwells) Cowl appears to be originally from a 1923+ Fordor, probably used as a quick double for restoration or repair, as the open cars did not get a cowl vent until the final redesign in 1926 (and these cowls were flush) -- Last edit: 2023-10-01 22:19:29 |
