2007-11-02 08:45 | Currently the new season is running here in Germany. Yesterday they destoyed a Ferrari (Season 22 Episode 7 "Familiensache"). I don't know if this was a replica or a real one (I'm not the expert in these things). Found no pictures and the homepage http://www.cobra11action.de/ isn't updated yet. |

2007-11-14 19:45 | I am thinking it is 308 GTB |
2007-11-14 20:05 | I was just thinking it looks like the one Tom Selleck drove on "Magnum, P.I." Since they're both 308's, I'm leaning in that direction. -- Last edit: 2007-11-14 20:05:49 |
2007-11-14 20:50 | it does look like a replica 308. something about it doesn't look right. |
2007-11-14 22:47 | I agree. Compare the bonnet vents on this one: http://www.wreckedexotics.com/308/308_20060213_001.shtml -- Last edit: 2007-11-14 22:54:08 |
2007-11-15 06:49 | This is a definite replica most likely built on a Pontiac Fiero donor car. Notice the missing third window on both sides, near the rear view mirrors. The hood is also not the same as a real Ferrari. The rear muffler cover should be all black, instead of two tone black and red. The rear is missing the "prancing horse" emblem and the "308" emblems are on the wrong side of the car. The wheels are also knockoffs. Too bad they blew up such a rare replica. |
2007-11-17 10:42 | I don't understand the concept of a replica. "Oh, I see you've got a Ferrari!' - "It's a, um, fake Ferrari, based on a TR7." "Oh." It's like owning a Porsche 924. |
2007-11-17 17:15 | The guy who owns a replica would not say "it's a fake" when you say him "ho you've got a Ferrari" ![]() |
2007-11-17 17:39 | True, but he may blush. |
2007-12-02 15:53 | Good riddance to bad rubbish! (altough at least it meant that they didn't have to destroy a genuine Ferrari). Dudley, while the Porsche 924 is not rated as a real porsche (it was the original design for the Audi coupe but They didn't want it,especially with the original van engine fitted),it was licensed by Porsche and therefore legally wore the Porsche badge.None of these replica's are licensed by Ferrari who own the rights to the designs, and so therefore, their manufacturers are technically guilty of intellectual property theft,so it's not quite the same thing. |
2007-12-05 15:38 | I know the 924 is technically a Porsche; as you say, it's just not quite the real thing. |
