My uncle had a Metro Vanden Plas in purple (or as he put it blue). This was the one that had real walnut trim on the fascia in particular around the glovebox and also the fancy cloth. Luxury. BL style. At the time I thought it was naff. Now I think it is potentially a real classic |

This is something that always fascinated me: The fact that even the BL-cars with the most horrible built-quality were available with precious wooden trim and leather interior. |

Presumably they did it to try and sell them at a higher markup price. They cost £1000 more than a normal 1.3 litre Metro (bear in mind these are mid-1980s prices) -- Last edit: 2013-07-03 18:24:33 |
