Has this got an engine or is it only pedal-powered? This type of pedal-powered trike was commonly used for ice-cream selling (mostly at the sea-side) before ice cream vans became popular. http://www.businessonwheels.co.uk/ -- Last edit: 2007-11-07 12:34:43 |

I think I remember petrol-engined-power-assisted bicycles from the 1950-1960s but think they did not have to be registered for the road? |

From searching via Google..... There were probably a few makers of bicycle engines. They were usually clip-on two stroke motors used to power assist a bicycle. Although there were many manufacturers, the most popular were the Trojan minimotor, the Powerpak, the B.S.A. Winged Wheel and the Cyclemaster. Another was the Teagle bicycle engine, 49 cc single cylinder, 2 stroke cycle engine, made by W.T. Teagle (M/C) Ltd, Blackwater, Truro, Cornwall, England, c. 1955 |
