Described as a 1945 Peterbilt, only 2 owners, had covered over 3 million miles without ever venturing east of the Mississippi. |

Model nicknamed "Bubblenose", proper model names were 280 and 350 (possibly single and tandem rear axles, respectively?). According to Wikipedia production was 1949-1957? |

was truck industry same as car ( a little bit of 1942, nothing for 1943-45 ) ? |

Civilian car production was stopped, but I think heavy commercial trucks might have been allowed to continue because they were needed to move materials around the country and thus vital to the war effort. |

seen that way... would be logical to keep the production going then |

Just rechecked clip - definitely says "1945". |

I don't think this is a 1945 truck. In 1945, all designs of cars/trucks were still pre-war, but this looks too modern to be a pre-war design. Wikipedia says that Peterbilt's first cab-over truck came out in 1949... maybe the guy got mixed up and actually meant to say 1955 not 45? -- Last edit: 2020-04-02 13:53:51 |

Wikipedia seems off by a year, here's a '48. -- Last edit: 2020-04-02 16:33:31 |

That one could be a mistake as well. This site also says 1949: https://www.peteoflouisiana.com/history.htm - "In 1949, Peterbilt unveiled a practical cabover engine model in anticipation of highway length limits." |

"Idaho Pacific owns and operates three state of the art dehydrated potato manufacturing facilities located strategically in key potato producing areas in North America... [making] Dehydrated Potato Flakes, Potato Flours and Potato Granules. ... Potatoes are our specialty – that’s all we do .... " from pages here. So, despite the commentary, 1949 350 seems the best way of entering this?? |
