Yes - a fiddly sequence. First XJ-S (Sept 75) had black rear panel and XJ-S badge on right, then 81 update deleted black infill and added HE badge, probably also removing the hyphen to give XJS . Then in 83 when new 3.6 and SC versions added, the XJS badge moved to left. I think the black inset to plate light was also 83+ - previously shiny and saying Jaguar, it still said Jaguar but almost invisibly. After that nothing happened to affect this view until 1991 facelift. |
