McLaren Road Locomotive, 1332 "Gigantic" built in 1912, DS 7128 is the most similar I have found but not in the movie as it was sent to Australia until returning to the UK in 1978

Also seen in the background, on the right, is Fowler Tractor 15625 built in 1920, U 7148 http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/events/2010/harewood-house-steam-rally/52/

The Double Diamond appears to have worked wonders.

Probably the slowest McLaren on the site.

But still one of the most stylish ones.

The company traded as and is usually referred to as 'J&H McLaren & Co.' - what if we list this make as J&H McLaren? Opinions?

OK by me.

I really don't see the problem (with them both being McLaren that is), its not as if they are going to be confused with each other?

We also have Star and Standard and others including the Daimler and Talbot distinctions I guess?

Confident that this is probably a 10 n.h.p. Engine built between 1910 and 1920 similar to Gigantic [1332] DS 7128.

It may still exist but probably looks somewhat different and without the 'Double Diamond' sides. There is at least one other 10 n.h.p. McLaren on
http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/ without a photo, [1433] built in 1917, that could be in the north of England (I hope its not be converted to yet another Showmans engine).

The difficulty with that is that a Showman’s engine is more attractive to the general public than a normal traction engine and possibly more able to earn an upkeep for itself running a “steam” fair.

When I think of McLaren, I think of expensive sports cars.

Now I'm curious about how many other car manufacturers known for expensive sports cars also build farming vehicles.
