Geeze, they make alot of mistakes in this show!!!!!! It's a 1957!!!!!! The King (Elvis) owned one in addition to the 1950'S BMW sports-car, according to the book, 365 Cars You Must Drive!!!!!!

The Isetta with these windows were introduced in 1957 indeed. Bt the last ones were produced in May 1962, so why couldn't this one be a 1960 model? Btw, it's a three-wheeler (most Isetta had two rear wheel close together).

Hi Bubbler - randomly I was on my way back from Lincolnshire a couple of years ago and saw this exact car on the back of a truck. I took a couple of pictures of it. I remember it because of the number plate which everyone in my car thought was very funny :) I couldn't believe it when I saw it on top gear! Very random!!

dsl wrote I still think - not entirely out of mischief - that as a licensing arrangement, BMW Isettas should be Origin I, Made in D. But I'm not going to die in a ditch for it.

ingo wrote This one is for sure specially made for UK, because it's a three-wheeler. They were made due the British tax-regulations.

dsl wrote I hadn't realised the 3-wheeler BMW-ised version was unique to UK. In terms of Iso-made Isettas [no German plural!] the prototype was 3-wheeler (so could be Origin I here for its development), but all production cars had 4 as you say.
