1970? With this grill and indicators I would tell 1973.

I thought that was strange too but i checked the license plate and it says:

Regnr: CFE147
Fabrikat: VOLVO 1421341 T
Ã…rsmodell: 1970
Fordonsslag: PB
Chassinummer: 123806

The front (grille and indicators) and the headlests are so obviously newer than 1970 that the plate must be fake. It vote for Weasel1984's idea: 1973.

But the 73\'s had the later tail lights right?
The car could have been facelifted to look newer by someone (even though unlikely).

Modifications like this was not uncommon in Sweden, and making them look like a 73 was also the most common when I got my license in the middle of the eighties. The 73 model was considered the best looking 140, so if you had a 69 rustbucket it was likely to transform into a 73 in those days. I know of several cars that even had the rear end replaced aswell.

It actually must be a 1970 or earlier, because it has a windshield mounted with rubber moldings and not glue. Though it is facelifted to look like a 1973 model, but with the seats from a 240.

Mongrel. :sun:
Well, maybe the best way is to live it without model year?
Somebody turns on "Google Graphics", tapes "Volvo 142 1970", see it and could think it's 1970 MY form! :X
