Thinking either a Catalina or an Executive coupe |

Any chance to determine the model? |

Pontiac had four 2-door hardtop models, the Bonneville and Executive on the longer 124" wheelbase and the Ventura and Catalina on the 121" wheelbase. I think this is the shorter model, making it a Ventura or Catalina. From this view, I'm not sure we can tell which one this is. |

Catalina Ventura came with deluxe wheel covers. Given the shoddy-looking hubcaps on this particular vehicle, it's likely just a plain-jane Catalina & not the upscale Ventura trim package (sport steering wheel, pricey wheel covers & distinctive tri-tone "Morrokide" [naugahyde] upholstery) - but it is NYC and somebody might have stolen the nicer wheel covers which were then replaced with generic Catalina ones from a junk yard. For a 2 year old car used as a prop in this 1970-filmed movie, the "stolen" hubcaps idea seems a little more far-fetched than had it been say, a 12 year old car used in a 1980-filmed movie. -- Last edit: 2024-05-03 03:31:07 |
