No, Honda Civic estate. I'm pretty sure it was called the Aerodeck

I guess it was Civic Aerodeck.

Built at Swindon, the estate was designed in the UK (actually using a contract design company working for Honda UK).

A lot of Japanese cars which we have in Europe, was actually designed here - like some Hondas in UK (if I remember well Toyota Avensis too), but they are listed with Japanese origin - for me the situation is similar to this with German and British Fords.
That's just a kind of question (even if without '?' :p ), not suggestion.

I agree whereas the public mostly sees them as purely Japanese vehicles there is a considerable amount of design content as well as local assembly. I have worked with Honda, Nissan and Toyota on their European projects. Most recently with Nissan in the UK who were bidding against other Nissan design centres for the design work on a new 4x4 vehicle.

Another reason to shift to country of production - it is hard to establish "origin", but fairly easy to establish production site (in doubt, the highest-volume plant should have the upper hand). It can also give more information to the reader (in some cars, there are differences between versions built at different locales).

I already answered that :p I may add a "production" field, but it won't replace the current one (though that it would allow to have much more belgian cars, e.g. Volvo C30, Audi A3, Ford Mondeo, etc.)
Someday I guess I will be fed up with these country discussions and just remove the field :o

According to Wikipedia that Civic Aerodeck is based on the Honda Orthia :??:

Wikipedia contains a lot of rubbish. I should know I wrote a lot of that myself. The Orthia was roughly a JDM equivalent to the Swindon Civic Aerodeck, but they have little in common...

Think of the Belgian cars ;) This year's Car Of The Year comes from Belgium too!

PS. Actually, the English Wiki says roughly what I did ;)
