@Baube, fortunately, I think, there will be no biscuit in the basket for you today :)

It is a CJ-5, and this is most likely a locally built one, but it needs some proper translation from this page. It says (roughly translated from google translate):
Quote models: CJ-2A (1945/1949); CJ-3A (1948/1953); CJ-3B (1952/1964) and CJ-5 (1954/1969) were imported to BR in their respective years, until 1957...In 1951, Willys begins to manufacture the Jeep in Brazil, on April 26, 1952, Willys Overland do Brasil is founded...In August 1957, Willys introduced the national model Jeep Universal with 65% of its nationalized components.... From late 1958 to 1959, the first fully Brazilian CJ-5s began to be manufactured.... in 1960, opens the first engine factory in Brazil, Willys Overland Motores, located in Taubaté / SP...From 1957, when Jeep manufacturing began in Brazil, 122620 vehicles were produced...In 1967, Ford buys Willys... Ford acquired 48% of Willys shares. The deal was closed on October 15, 1967.... On May 30, 1972, Ford renames Ford / Willys of Brazil to Ford of Brazil.... In addition to the CJ-5 (U-50 in the Ford era), the CJ-6 models with elongated chassis, better known as Bernardão, were manufactured with two and four doors.... Jeep ended its production in April 1983.

That one in the link (Ford version) has square rear wheel arches, the one in the main picture seem to have rounded ones (more like this one ), suggesting that it's an earlier model (perhaps pre-1960?) and also, pre-Ford ownership CJ-5 (pre-1967).

Early CJ5 for sure, appears to have the cowl box cover of pre-66. Hard to say origin but I suspect not US made. US Jeeps of the period would have minor details on the hood not present here.
