Pontiac Acadian? http://www.cardomain.com/ride/741424 |

Sorry, but no. Perhaps it should be a two star ... I thought perhaps the the logo, lamp or whatever it is on the fender could give some clues. |

if it is only in one scene, yes -- Last edit: 2005-11-16 20:10:49 |

Looks like an Opel Rekord C to me. Acadian is unlikely, this is a Swedish film and tose cars were never imported commecially to Sweden. |

if it is only in one scene, yes[/quote] Well, it is a "Vehicle used by a character", but I will change it. |

The movie is partly filmed in Denmark and this is clerarly a danish car. The turn indicator on the fender is typically danish, mounted due to legal demands. I don´t know if they had Acadians, Sweden did in the early sixties. 1963 if I remember right, but it wasn´t a great number of them and almost all of them are gone now. I found some more info: They sold here only one year, 1964, two models were available. The Canso and the Beaumont, prices were almost identical to the Chevrolet originals (Chevy II and Chevelle) that were available at the same dealers. So it wasn´t much point in bringing them here -- Last edit: 2005-11-17 22:15:22 |

Opel Record |
◊ 2006-01-30 14:49 |
Can't be an Opel Rekord C : the front quarterlight should be more horizontal and the bottom corner of the windscreen should be rounded |

Opel Rekord C and Commodore B were also assembled as CKD kits in Belgium and Switzerland in the early to late 70ies. These cars carried the name "Ranger" and differed from the originals in having different grilles, emblems and trim; presumably to satisfy those European customers who didn´t wish to own a German car, these cars were exported to various countries. There was a book about them: All about Your Opel Rekord Ranger (Peter Russek) ISBN: 0903168081 Is it possible that what we are looking at here is an Opel Ranger? -- Last edit: 2006-01-30 16:17:01 |

And what about Chevrolet Opala and Commodoro from Argentina? Or Holden Monaro? |
◊ 2006-01-30 16:50 |
The only thing I can find with that squared off lower windscreen and that severe coke bottle hump is a 1966 Olds Jetstar 88. |

It definately looks like a GM product though I also don't think it's an Opel Rekord C nor a Vauxhall. The 'upswing' of the body between B and C pillar area is to much. Compare to this Rekord pic : http://www.delest.nl/media/img/DCP_3466.JPG -- Last edit: 2006-04-12 05:01:33 |
◊ 2006-04-12 04:51 |
at a glance the "A" pillar has a '68/69 Chevelle-like appearance to me, the rest of the car is unfamiliar |
◊ 2006-04-12 05:39 |
The 1968-69 Chevelle has hidden wipers but this car doesn't though it looks similar otherwise. -- Last edit: 2006-04-12 05:53:12 |

Windscreen (square-cornered in the movie radiused on the Commodore) are completely different, this area of the car would be identical on any facelifted model. Also front quarter-lite is different and the movie car appears to have a full-sized rear-door window, the Commodore is divided with a quarter-lite glass. Not the same car. -- Last edit: 2006-05-07 13:52:55 |

yes, that rear door I saw later... |
◊ 2006-05-07 15:08 |
I appears to be a GM North American Car (B-body) about 1966-1969, from the 'coke-bottle' rear quarters, door handles and glass area. Chevrolet Bel Air for example (although external sheet metal and car division could be different). -- Last edit: 2006-05-07 15:10:27 |
◊ 2006-05-08 11:48 |
Mmm, that could be it. Look at te rear door. |
◊ 2006-05-09 05:38 |
Yes, I think that's it.. Though it's hard to tell for sure I'm leaning towards a 1967 Chevrolet Biscayne as the sweep if the rear door and side windows seems to 'work'. That plus the 1968 model had hidden wipers. The thing that throws me off is that fender repeater lamp? Were they required in Sweden in the late 1960s? |

It is a 1966 Chevrolet Impala 4-door pillared sedan (not to be confused with the very often photographied 4-door sports-sedan) See my blog http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog/slideshow.html?p=8 |

Are the side mounted turn signals required by law in the country of this films origin? Be cause those really threw me a curve. |

Concernant le clignoteur, tout à fait typique au Danemark à cette époque-là, voici une autre photo d'une Volvo de 1965 avec identiquement le même clignoteur. http://www.gellir.cc/amazon/images/Amazon_Y18.JPG Yvon |
