I looked up some 1930s Daimler ads in a pre war Daimler book and an Automobile Quarterly article on Daimlers. The big Daimlers usually carried spare wheels on the side. Other than the really big Royal Daimlers, the big Daimlers were the Double Sixs, which were V12s, the smaller big Daimlers were known as Straight Eights. Here things get a bit confusing because they built 6 cylinder cars using very similar bodies, they might have been known as 20, 25 or 30s. Then there would be the 15s. It seems that Daimlers were also making parellel lines of chauffeur driven limousines and the 'Light' series intended for owner drivers. I will have to do a bit more research.

Sunbar is right in that the early 30s Daimlers may have a Lanchester engine. Daimler introduced its own new straight eight in 1934

Daimler Straight-Eight, most likely on the V4 1/2 chassis.
