Yes, I just watched the film, knew the Coupe De Ville was a '65, and heard the "cops" calling it '68. Probably as written in the script, and with the stacked lamps, the casual observer might not have been able to distinquish the difference, even when the cars were recent late models. The flub could be blamed on the "cops" misidentifying the car model year. Wow, what a film!
