By the position of the front indicators it's a 6-cylinder car. Since it seems to have just one strip on the sill and no more chrome strips on the body, I would say it's a 1956 219 [W105] sporting the optional Webasto fabric roof. |

But the 219 didn't have the quarter lights in the rear doors... Also the chrome rims with holes indicate a [W180] 220 (1954+). Maybe it lost one of the strips? |

You're right about the quarterlights of the rear doors and the chrome wheel rings ( although the latter would be easily added if the owner wanted to ). Perhaps the "missing" strip is just provoked by the distance and the light. Since it was introduced in June 1954, I think it may be considered a 1955 ( model year )+ car. Actually, the others on the site are dated 1955. |
