Well, not a '98 - that's the answer. 96-97 had amber indicators, 98-99 had red. Can't be a 98 in a movie filmed in 96 anyway.

@Lateef: the difference between 96 and 97 lies in the headrests: 96 had the headrests attached to the seat, in 97 they became separate units.
Also 1997 introduced black as a color on this generation of the Taurus. :)

@Gamer: that change was on the LX and the SHO only. This Taurus is an intermediate GL model as it's got body-coloured mirror and trim, yet lacks the body-coloured sill of the LX and the SHO.

@Lateef & Gamer. 1996 LX did not have colored sills/pillars : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnEfoxNo_D8

Um... the sills are body-coloured? The video proves it? Unless we're talking about different things entirely.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2ajcE4xZkU - Sills and pillars are different now that you mentioned it. That one is one me. Sorry. I see what you mean. The portion at the bottom of the window surround. I was talking about the pillars where the doors meet.

Sills = window surround.
Pillars = posts where the doors meet.

You are right good sir. Sorry for insulting your intelligence :(

No worries. Just to clarify, this is the part I'm referring to - I guess they'd be what you call rocker panels overseas:
