Correct designation is Continental Mark II coupe ,a 1955-56 year.It was then considered as a separate make , not a Lincoln , because it was produced by a separate division of the Ford Motor Company , the Continental division headed by William Clay Ford.So this one is not truly a Lincoln. |

I don't think it's correct to call it a 1955. Technically, it's a 1956 model. It was indeed introduced at the Salon de l'Auto on october 6th 1955, but all the american makes introduced their new models, 1956 in that example, in september or october of the preceding year, 1955 here. So this is a 1956. There a no 1955 Continental Mark II |
