In 2006 Ford separated the Rear Park Assist and Safety Canopy™ - Advanced Safety rollover/side impact (side curtain air-bags) options for greater control over how consumers wanted their Expeditions optioned. As added info (for anyone who wants to know) : The Expedition Safety Canopy™ covers over 75% of window area when fully deployed and will stay deployed (inflated) up to 7 seconds after a collision (so in case the Expedition is, God forbid, hit again by another vehicle) Here is the Safety Canopy™ in mid-deployment. The Safety Canopy™ - Advanced Safety rollover/side impact (side curtain air-bags) are hidden above the B-pillar and emerge between the roof fabric and at the top of the front and second row doors. The word "Airbag" is written above the B-pillar when or if a Expedition is equipped with the Safety System. -- Last edit: 2007-09-20 06:38:01 |
