Kia Clarus - wheels suggest it's a post-facelift (I also believe this awful colour also debuted with the facelift):

I think this is actually Sephia, the name Clarus doesnt sound to me at all, it probably was only for the United Kingdom...

Check the pic in the link - it is a Clarus is all its glory, I was fascinated by Kia then and can tell them ;)

@EU members. Any idea on when the Clarus debuted in Spain? Haven’t been able to find an actual introduction date. Will leave at 1996.

According to these pages, was called Credos in Spain:
Link to "bestsellingcarsblog.com"
https://bestsellingcarsblog.com/1998/01/spain-1997-seat-ibiza-in-the-lead-again/
And this could explain why the name Clarus didn't sound familiar to a Spanish..
It appears they sold 51 pieces in 1996 and 305 in 1997, so it looks like it was introduced in late 1996, but I can't say more..
Also Bravada says those are post facelift wheels, so I believe this is a 1998+ (can't confirm they weren't available before)

Same for France too? I’ll adjust the Spanish ones to Credos.

Check my comment on Rush Hour 3. The red reflector strip only seems to be on KDM Credos. I have been wrong in the past. These are observations.

Edit: not sure who he is. Member isn’t active and hasn’t been. Not sure of his credibility. I did search for the wheels and I saw older models with them. Not sure if a wheel swap ?

Makes sense why the Spanish member didn’t recognize the name

Honestly I am not sure. I am finding older ones with those wheels, too..
For France I think the side repeater wasn't mandatory back then. Cars until the late 90s didn't have the repeaters there, whereas more recent ones do. Maybe for this reason French Clarus have the KDM body? Not sure..
Well, this one has the repeater: https://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/1852396084.htm/ my brain hurts..it's a pre-facelift 1998..

Mine does too. I guess best to default at Clarus in EU unless we know it is a Credos. (Exceptions exist like Spain).

Can't find any Clarus/Credos on sale in Spanish sites

I looked too...I couldn’t find anything either. Since the sales were so low they may all be scrapped. Might not be any authentic ones left..

I think you're about 10 years late. The last time I saw one for sale was around 2012.

Just discovered this site: https://www.veikl.com/documents/kia/Clarus
Nothing about Spain for the Clarus/Credos, but seems a great resource!

For the record it was Clarus here, sold only from Summer 1999 to 2001 when we got the Magentis. I don't think we'll need to worry though as so few arrived.

In Norway the pre-facelift was called Credos and the post-facelift was called Clarus. Sold from mid-1996 if I remember correctly.
