Yes, I agree it seems to be a MG A ( and it looks like the front bumper is missing ).

The Wheel base is closer to the Fiat in the forground . I'd start looking at Morretii or something along that line. Definitely not an MGA/Healey Or Doretti . wheel base is too short.

Something too odd , the boot height, shape of rear lights..etc..to be a MGA up to me, but ...?

About the rear end, I think just one different detail makes it seem strange: the traditional square-shaped Italian numberplate in a car that usually has a rectangular one. The rear lights can be those of a 1959+ 1600 MkI that has separated indicators, giving a certain feeling of strangeness from this distance. Looking closely, it seems to be the filler cap on the left of the right rear light ( where the MG A has it ).

It is for the car in background on the right.

I'd go for Moretti. Saw one a few weeks ago and this looks identical to it

I think the wheelbase is an optical illusion. I think the car is further away than it appears at first glance. I would have said the wheelbase of the converible is closer to the Fiat(?) Estate/Station wagon in front of it than to the Fiat in the foreground. This means it still could be an MGA, but I'm not sure the front wings are quite right for that.

Definitely MGA, and as above a later one with bigger rear lights.
