It all starts with FADISA (Fabricacio'n de Automo'viles Diesel, S.A.) in 1956. This company was started to produce vans and small trucks. One of the first was the licence built 'Romeo 2' from Alfa-Romeo. This was later developed into the van/minibus we see here, and also the name was changed to 'Ebro'.

Additionally 'Fadisa' sold Avia trucks on the spanish market (which was restricted for foreign producers during Franco's dictatorship).

The 'Ebro' name was also used for licence built Willys Jeep CJ-3B, 'Jeep Ebro', and in the late 1970s this was changed to 'Jeep Avia'.

Probably this name change from 'Ebro' to 'Avia' took place for the vans, also.

Ebro ended up as part of Nissan, didn't it? I seem to remember seeing "Nissan Ebro" vans in France.
