The three-wheeler? |
◊ 2007-08-23 10:25 |
To the left of the three-wheeler is a Mini van, the three-wheeler could be a Heinkel. Continuing to the right - A Ford consul Mk2, a Morris Minor 1000, an Austin A30 and a Ford Anglia 105E. Next row, a Citroen Light 15, another Ford Consul Mk2, an Austin A40 Farina??, a Ford Squire and another Mini van. Next row, Ford Anglia 105E, Fiat Bambina, another 105E, another Consul Mk2, VW Beetle and an Austin A105 (quite a rare, shortlived model) and another Ford van. Notice the Triumph TR2 a few rows back and the Standard 8 on one side of it and the Fiat 600 on the other. By the pole, Vauxhall Victor FB sedan and wagon, with a Morris Oxford Series 3? and a Standard Vanguard Phase 3. With the exception of the three-wheeler these were all a common sight here in NZ as well. -- Last edit: 2007-08-23 10:26:08 |

Let's go for the three-wheeler! |

The Heinkel name was possibly not used for the UK at the time? |

If it was a Heinkel, it would have been called Trojan... but this is a BMW Isetta ![]() |

No three-wheeler in this picture! ![]() It is a BMW Isetta, which has four wheels. /vehicle_100567-BMW-Isetta-250-Export-1957.html The Heinkel was avalable with three or four wheels and was sold under that name in the UK. Later it was produced in England under the name Trojan. /vehicle_100594-Heinkel-150-1956.html |

Why not make a parking-lot image out of this? Examples: /vehicle.php?id=121255 /vehicle.php?id=114598 /vehicle.php?id=122433 |

Some years to late, but I'll better add this information: special for the British market BMW has made the Isetta as a Threewheeler (due the former British car-tax, which was cheaper for Threewheelers). Otherwise this specifi Isetta on this pic looks really like the original four-wheel-version. The plate looks light, too, so maybe it's a car from a tourist from the Continent. |
