Why "Made for A" ? |

Maybe because these ambulances were made in Austria for Austria by Dlouhy?! |

I usually set a 'made for...' for public use vehicles such as police cars, fire trucks, ambulances and so on, because I suppose the trims are specifically made for the country |

Isn't the ambulance in the thumb a T3? |

Yes right. Supposed to be the same as the LT anyway |

Rather outfitted in Austria than fully built there. |

I'm not sure it's as simple as that. Maybe german car manufacturers have dedicated specs for public service vehicles (I have no idea), but a lot of vehicles are bought off the shelf and outfitted by a specialised company to the specs specified by the customer (police force, firefighters, and so on). In my opinion, "Made for..." can be applied if the country of destination - and not just the customer - mandates a specific equipment. I asked the "Made for A ?" question because of the thing that's above the LT's windscreen (and the T3 too). Is that a light ? Maybe a specific item for Austria ? |

Not really sure, I don't recall to have noticed something like that around (but probably I never paid attention)... could be a badge, maybe the old one of the ASB |

In my work as a commercial manager in the specialist vehicle industry, we built some lightly armoured cash in transit vehicles on M-B Sprinter chassis for use by a company in Egypt. The chassis came from Germany, the bodies from England, and the user was in Egypt. International or what? |
