The single headlights make it a Rolls-Royce Phantom V (1959-68).

Rolls royce Phantom V Limousine Park Ward with non standard wheel embelishments. Perhaps John Lennon's first Phantom: he orderred a new one and painted it psychedelic

John Lennon owned 3 Phantom V's but they were all design 2003 (i.e. with twin headlamps). If only the reg'n was legible I could have found the chassis number.

DMU 385A was on 5AS7. Its original registration number was tranferred to a new Phantom V by its first owner and the registration mentioned fitted. It may well have ended up in the trade or rental business. Apart from the bespoke wheeltrim and blacked window frames it seems pretty standard.

It is interesting to note that the London scenes of \"HELP!\" were filmed during March / April 1965. One month later, John Lennon purchased a new black Phantom V (FJB 111C). By October that year, the wheels of FJB 111C had been painted black exactly like the \'59 Phantom in \"HELP!\" - as news photos of the Beatles\' visit to Buckingham Palace to receive their MBEs attest.

\"park-ward\" above mentions that John Lennon owned three Phantom Vs. I would be most interested to discuss this further with park-ward, robgeelen and anyone else who has information on the subject. Two of the three are very well known: FJB 111C and EUC 100C. The latter Phantom V was passed in at auction in 1985 and, to the best of my knowledge, has been out of the public eye ever since. The current owner clearly wants to remain anonymous, but there is reason to believe that it remains in England and was never shipped to the States. Lennon\'s third Phantom, according to my research, is in Colorado in the Tebo Auto Collection. Apart from the fact that it is RHD and lacks the conspicuous roof mounted aerial, it is virtually identical to EUC 100C. The third PV supposedly owned by Lennon & Ono turned out to be a false claim (5LVD15). Ono used her name and Lennon's to jazz it up for a charity at a Sotheby's auction in 1984. It is now in a Colorado museum as "J. Lennon's RR".

This is the car used in the 1966 TV series ' Mrs. Thursday ' , with Kathleen Harrison. It's now available on dvd. I post this in the great hope that the present owner may release it's current location , if only generally , to reassure everyone that this beautiful machine still exists , and is in England. Thank you.

5AS7's original plate might have been XXN 8 - https://twitter.com/rrecltd/status/1067451786850721792 , https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DtBZvetW0AESPOt.jpg
