since the movie is asian, I'm guessing that its a ssangyong kallista instead (its a rebadged version that's virtually unknown outside of asia) |

Was the Ssangyong Kallista sold outside South Korea? |

I doubt it's a Ssangyong, those were made in 1992, and that's too late for this movie. |

Ssyangyong Kallista was 1992+ so too late for this film (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panther_Kallista ). Only 73 or 78 made - depending which part of the wiki page you believe - so exports unlikely. So this is 1982+ and Panther. Still a nice find and in an unusual place. |

Series production began in March 1983. Sure it can't be a Lima? -- Last edit: 2012-04-17 19:16:53 |

The two-tone design makes me think Lima ... |

This is a Panther Westwinds Lima 2. Easily recognised by the flat windscreen and MG Midget doors. The hood being completely removeable along with the hood 'sticks'. The company folded in 1983 and was taken over by a South Korean. Production changed from GRP bodies and GM mechanicals to a Kallista made from aluminium and Ford mechanicals. This company continued until 1991 and folded again. The name and production equipment was taken over by SsangYong and they produced a GRP 'wide-bodied' Kallista using Ford mechanicals. They produced about 200 examples a few of which made it to the UK. |
