You're right on the first part, it was made by Armalite. Since Colt made some Armalite weapons under license (and eventually bought the rights to the AR-15), this was the source of my confusion. I disagree about it not being related. The AR-18/180 was a design evolution of the AR-15, from which the M16 was also developed. |
