Looks like suffix T (8/1978-7/1979)... -- Last edit: 2018-11-13 11:07:06 |

Probably already discussed, but.. I see that, whereas first series 127s all have [100GL] as chassis code, some second generation have [100GL], others have [127] or [127A] and most have no code, and same happens for the third (excluding Brazilian builds). How should we list 1978-83 ones? I think that [127] is the general project code for all 127s (not very unexpected ), whereas restyled ones (II and Italian-built III) have 127A in the VINs (at least 1981+ ones) as present in several listings here (like 1986+ Pandas have 141A), so maybe these should all be reunited under [127A]? And the same is to apply for Seats? (IMO yes) -- Last edit: 2021-05-07 15:45:57 |

Glass's lists UK S1 2-door as 127A from Oct 71 (with 3 door as 127AF from July 72, then 127A3 from Jan 74). 127 Special from Jan 75 has same 127A/127A3 codes. S2 facelift (July 77) has confused codings - seems to be 127A1 across versions, then adding 127A2 for 127 Sport (Oct 78, revamped as 127 GT in April 82). No other codes mentioned after 1980. |

Looks like 100GL code indicates 903 cc engine. |

Indeed, [100GL] refers to 100-series motor family, so these ones: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_100_series_engine Here are lots of Fiat (and not only) engine codes: https://www.repubblica.it/misc/autosuper/2.html So, technically it isn't a chassis code and should be right only for 903cc 127s (anyway all first series ones and most of others). |
