Nothing found for PNX 307M (a Warwickshire plate, so possible for factory cars, although not the most obvious series - Jensens often used xEA); 308M was a Fiat 128 registered in Oct 73. We still haven't found a Jensen GT - only 511 made, but there must be some out there .... |

This plate is right on the cusp of the transfer of responsibilities for registration from Local Taxation Offices to Local Vehicle Licensing Offices which were fewer in number, but covered a larger area. Thus, indices which were historically allocated to boroughs or counties became part of groupings allocated to the new offices. Jensen used “EA” because their works was in West Bromwich, and that would have been their nearest point of call. After the reorganisation, it is possible that they used Dudley LVLO, which included NX in its portfolio. Back in the day, one of my motor club friends had a Jensen GT, but I haven’t seen him, or the car for eons. -- Last edit: 2018-11-09 09:55:47 |
