I believe it is a ~ 1955 Dodge Power Wagon with Ponton style front conversion done for the operator BOAC by dark blue color.

I’m intrigued by the circular things attached to the cab sides. Was it jet-propelled?

(I think they are probably speaker horns or spotlights.)

Yes, it is an airtug specified for the Stratocruiser, by strengthened front bumper and spotlights to find the hardpoints on the plane.
