SS 396 to be exact.Lot's of G.I.'s took those kinds of cars over.....because of the Autobahn, you know??? |

Shot in Frankfurt, so it is quite possible a G.I. handed over the car to the movie people, that were my thoughts, too as it is no usual chauffeur car! |

Plus the reason, that a) a pink car b) an US Coupé were -and are- unthinkable in Germany as a chauffeur car. |

But on the Autobahn the G.I.'s learned quite soon, that their US Muscle Cars aren't vollgasfest ( there's no translation for it ) -"vollgasfest" = able to make a few hundred kilometers nonstop with full throttle and top speed. Now the most US G.I.'s have left Germany, so the danger is much lower than in the past, to get in trouble by overchallenged US drivers, who didn't know the Rechtsfahrgebot (= driving always on the right lane except overtaking. Passing on the right is forbidden, too). It's really dangerous, when you come with 180 km/h or more on the left lane, which is blocked with a 100 km/h sleepyhad while the right lane is empty |

@Ingo: Full-throttle-resistant can be used to translate "vollgasfest" if I'm not totally wrong. -- Last edit: 2020-12-16 00:47:18 |

I meant that, but couldn't find a correct translation. But vollgasfest doesn't help really, if suspension and brakes couldn't keep pace - as I see now at my new daily driver: upwards 180 km/h (KRAFTWERK https://youtu.be/QIStfyj_MU0 kicked out the 110 MPH curbing) the HEMI rumbles smoothly - but the driving feels like a brickstone on a layer of used condoms. -- Last edit: 2020-12-10 00:23:33 |

You've got a Hemi now?? Now that's a surprise! On the other hand, I didn't spend much time on this site lately. |
