This article claims it might be a 400SE registered in 1991 Link to "www.automoto.it" -- Last edit: 2018-08-17 21:39:56 |

Not sure if it is a 400 SE although is a late example of these wedge TVRs. Compare with pics here with bigger lights in front bumper and a bonnet vent behind one headlight. Maybe a 390 SE or 420 SE?? |

Before I noticed "TVR" I was thinking like: "390SE? What kind of Mercedes was that"? -- Last edit: 2018-08-17 21:53:42 |

A lhd TVR registered in Italy must be crazy rare. |

Revising ideas slightly - has 85-86+ rear lights (apparently from Renault Fuego, instead of previous Rover SD1) but still has door mirrors on stalks, unlike this 1988 390SE. Simple bonnet, no rear spoiler or complex undertray. 350i seems a better idea, probably 86 as this 87 has the newer mirrors. Not a 200i which would have been easier for Italian tax bands as they stopped in 84 before the facelift and had basic wheels, or a 280i which didn't have this vertical front spoiler with big fogs. |

Car was registered 14/05/1991, not sure if it is the original plate, but I think these were sold by a private importer (who brought also Caterhams and other similar specialties) in very small numbers. I couldn't obtain anything more from the plate, maybe @AleX_DJ can? ![]() |

Obviously an independent import then from some other lhd country, Switzerland, Germany etc. No Italy-spec. |

Likely Switzerland. I saw somewhere about how that was one of the only LHD markets for TVR. The Swiss have always liked their British cars... |

I see that there is even an enthusiast club in Italy http://www.tvrcarclubitalia.com/ No mention of local importers though ![]() |

In one of my magazines' price lists Pagani in Milano is mentioned as the importer for Caterham and TVR (I believe it was also a Lotus dealer, but not the main importer). Not all magazines put in their price lists minor/private firms that imported very small brands without an official support, but some did ![]() |

This 2009 article cites a UK Garage of Milan as the official TVR importer for Italy, but the company doesn't seem to be active at the moment ![]() |
