It looks like a Austin Eight or Austin Ten from 1939. They looked identical.

Not an Austin rather a 1947 Hillman Minx Phase I drophead coupe.

The grill is divided just above the bumper, necessary for the one-piece bonnet which was hinged at the rear by the windscreen.

Also the chrome-trim alongside the grill, two sets of three verticals, that are just visible shows this as a Minx.

The Phase I was announced in September 1939, not a particularly good time to announce a new car, but 10,015 examples, including a few Carbodies DHCs like the one pictured, were produced until November 1942, when Rootes production was confined to the military.

There is no clue from the number plate, reversed GMO is a Berkshire series introduced in late 1975 for re-registrations only.
