rpcm ◊ 2007-07-16 21:34	By the wheelcovers, it could be a [W108] 1968+ 280SEL or 1971+ 280SEL 3.5 or a [W109] 1968+ 300SEL, 1968+ 300SEL 6.3 or 1970+ 300SEL 3.5. Actually, this one seems to have an Automatic script on the right of the bootlid and a 3.5 or 6.3 badge between the script on the left and the bootlid handle.
Ingo ◊ 2007-07-17 00:47	Yes, it's obviously an SEL. The back door looks like the longer version. I'm quite sure, that it's not an 3.5. or an 6.3. Originally the 3.5- and the 6.3-badges are on the right side of the bootlid and never in combination with an "automatic"- or annother badge. But the badge-combinations of the car in the picture looks a bit strange, not original. Or it was a special export-version.
rpcm ◊ 2007-07-17 01:27	I think it's not possible to say it isn't a 3.5 or a 6.3. As you said, the badges are not in their usual place, so the one seen between the script on the left and the bootlid handle could be a 3.5 or a 6.3 one.

Ingo ◊ 2007-07-17 20:50	It can be both, but the only difference is the suspension. The W 109 has the air-suspension, the W 108 the conventional version.
